I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Philips and Croma.
I purchased a Philips air fryer from Croma for approximately ₹14,000. Within a week or two of bringing it home and actually trying to operate it, we discovered that the buttons were not functioning properly. We contacted customer service, and despite the product being faulty, it took almost a month for a technician to visit. The technician confirmed that the air fryer was defective and that it would need to be replaced.
After that, instead of arranging a straightforward replacement, we were repeatedly asked to wait. Eventually, the Philips representative guided us through an online exchange process. Initially, our address was not even showing in their system, so we had to wait several more days until they said the address had become available and instructed us to place the replacement order.
When the replacement finally arrived, the situation became even more unacceptable.
The replacement air fryer arrived with visible dents/structural damage, scratches all over the unit, and dust on the product. It clearly did not appear to be in the condition I would expect from a brand-new replacement product.
When I contacted Croma and Philips, instead of taking responsibility and resolving the issue, I was essentially told that because the damage was not reported immediately at the time of delivery, it was now the customer’s responsibility.
That response completely ignores our circumstances. The product was delivered while my grandmother was at home. She is elderly and does not know how to operate or inspect these appliances, and she had no reason to know that she needed to carefully examine the product for cosmetic or structural damage immediately upon delivery. I was away on vacation and only discovered the condition of the replacement when I returned.
I also want to point out that I purchased this product for my family in India. I do not live in India permanently, which made the repeated delays, calls, waiting periods, and lack of proper assistance even more frustrating.
What is most disappointing is not simply receiving a faulty product. Products can have manufacturing or delivery issues. What matters is how a company takes responsibility when something goes wrong. In this case, we experienced a defective original product, almost a month-long wait for service, delays with the replacement process, and then a replacement that itself arrived damaged — followed by an attempt to shift the responsibility onto the customer.
For a company like Philips and a retailer like Croma, I expected much better customer service and accountability.
Based on this experience, I would strongly advise customers to think carefully before purchasing expensive appliances from Philips through Croma. Spending ₹14,000 on a product should come with a reasonable expectation of receiving a functioning product and receiving proper support when there is a genuine problem.
This entire experience has been exhausting and extremely disappointing.
Since i brought this product it is showing E9 error and the service is very bad and it's been 2 weeks till now there is no technician to repair it very dissatisfied with the service
