The exhaust assembly had worn out due to regular wear and tear. I wasn't sure how to fix it, so I took a chance to order it online. Lo, behold, they shipped the part quickly, and the vacuum cleaner was up and running in no time. Appreciate doing business with you.

I had lost the pin. The pin wasnt available separately so had the buy the whole unit. Works as expected
