FAQs

Can I adjust the cooking preset temperature in my Philips Induction Cooktop?

To adjust the cooking temperature we recommend using the manual cooking mode. Manual cooking mode provides better control of temperature.

You may also increase/decrease the temperature within some cooking presets such as Milk/Water, Pressure cook and Roti/Dosa.

The cooking temperature in my Philips Induction Cooktop changes automatically

Some cooking presets (such as gravy) has variable temperature settings. You may notice a temperature change according to the preloaded recipe program.

We recommend switch to manual settings for better control over the cooking temperature if required.

Why does my Philips Induction Cooktop not maintain the temperature when cooking roti?

Preparing roti is different than other recipes since here vessel temperature should be maintained very high at all times and generally larger base vessel is used.

In normal usage, after preparing a few roti, the oversize vessel transfers the temperature to the cooktop surface and the thermal protection circuit discontinue the supply to let cool down the appliance.

As a result, there will be a drop in the temperature of your induction cooktop. This is normal and it happens to make the product safer and a longer life.

What cookware should I select for my Philips Induction Cooktop?

We recommend using only standard cookware for induction cooktop and taking care of the following points.

Material type

You should use cookware made of ferrous metal such as made of steel, iron or aluminum with stainless steel cladding base.

You should not use non-compatible material cookware like aluminum (commonly available) or mixed material types because this type of cookware results in less heating, and it could also result in malfunction s that can lead to very frequent failures in your appliance.

Cookware bottom design and size

We recommend using cookware with a flat bottom and a base diameter larger than 12cm and smaller than 20cm.

Please note: the cookware should not be placed outside of the ring zone, as shown in the following image:

Avoid using oversized cookware

If you use any oversized cookware, this type of cookware transfers the heats to the edges of the appliance and over the time this will deform the product cabinet and switches. We recommend to strictly use cookware where the base remains within ring zone only.

How do I switch cooking modes in my Philips Induction Cooktop?

If you wish to switch to a different cooking mode while cooking, stop the induction cooktop and restart it with the other desired cooking mode.
