Healthy indoor air is important. An air purifier helps you with this. But did you know that you also have to replace the filters in the device regularly? When the filters in the device become (too) dirty, they need to be replaced so that they can do their job.

By replacing the filters on time, you keep the air in your living environment in top condition.

Which air purifier do you have?

1. The pre-filter

The pre-filter catches the largest particles from the air, such as hair and dust particles. The pre-filter does not need to be replaced, but can be vacuumed and/or rinsed under the tap. We recommend doing this once a month.

Carbon Filter

2. The carbon filter

Guaranteed less volatile organic compounds and odors

The high absorption active carbon filter thanks to the honeycomb structure is designed to effectively remove various gases, including volatile organic compounds and odours.

3. The HEPA filter The reassuring feeling of 99.97% purification

The Philips NanoProtect HEPA Series 3 filter is made of high-quality material and filters bacteria, fine dust (PM 2.5), allergens, viruses from the air. The filter can capture up to 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. The filter with a firm and stable structure ensures that all the air flows through the filter and provides high filtration efficiency. The antibacterial coating eliminates germs and mold.

The combined HEPA and carbon filter

The new Urban Living air purifiers combine the HEPA and carbon filter in one filter. This integrated HEPA filter and Active Carbon filter effectively captures harmful particles as small as 0.003um, including PM2.5, allergens, bacteria and viruses. It also absorbs and retains formaldehyde, TVOC and odours in its nano-shaped pores.

How do I know when to replace my filter?

The lifespan of a filter depends on the type, the duration of use and the air quality in the home. On average, filters should be replaced every 12 months. In addition, the air purifier will notify you on the device and in the app when the HEPA or carbon filter needs to be replaced.
